What is a Wiki?

A Wiki is a website that allows anyone to add, delete, or revise content by using a web browser. It is also called a wiki engine, wiki application, or another word for a blog.

Student Technology Info
  1. All students are to log on to CPS computers with their CPS username and password (their I.D. number) using the INSTR domain.
  2. Students are NOT ALLOWED to log on with any other accounts besides what was mentioned in rule #1.
  3. Students are to follow the CPS Technology Student Use Policy.
  4. Any student that DOES NOT COMPLY with the CPS Technology Student Use Policy will be disciplined accordingly.
  5. Students are NOT ALLOWEDto access any content on the computers regarding the following:
    • Gangs
    • Violence
    • Pornography
    • Inappropriate websites
    • Anything not approved by CPS, the school administration, technology department and/or the teacher of the class

Teacher Technology Info

Before contacting someone in the technology department here are a few tips that can assist us in helping you resolve your issue.
  1. When dealing with a computer, tv, projector, laptop or any other audio/visual equipment, make sure all the plugs are properly connected.
  2. Make sure the power is on by checking to see if there are any lights or LED screens that are on.
  3. For All Computers: to make sure the internet is working properly, log on to the computer then click on the Internet Explorer icon located on your the desktop (on a PC) or click on the Safari icon located on the bottom of the screen called the dock (on a Mac). If a website appears, then the internet is connected and working properly. If there is no web page that appears then go back to step #1 and try again.
  4. Find and use the HELP button/icon on software applications and/or websites for steps on how to resolve your issue if possible.
